First Snow

Today we had our first snow of the season! Since this is the first time for Morgan to see snow we had to get out in it. She loved the snow!! I think if I would have let her she would have enjoyed rolling around in the snow...maybe next time. :) We didn't stay out long because it was really cold and windy. We were out just long enough for some fun pictures. I love snow and I think Morgan will take after me because despite the cold she enjoyed every moment laughing, smiling, and waving her hands in the air. Andy got the video camera out to capture our little snow angel in action!

A Great Thanksgiving Week!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a fun week with our families! Thank you to Holli and Lori for hosting the delicious meals! I know I walked away from each meal stuffed!
I also had fun with my nieces and nephew over the past week. We got to spend special time with Katie and Abby while Holli was on a field trip with Jack. After Katie got on the Kindergarten bus, Abby went back to our house and we made brownies for her family. Then a few days later I enjoyed lunch with Jack at his school. It was fun meeting his teacher, classmates, and going out to recess with him. I wanted to have lunch with Jack at his school for a long time, but was never able to with my past work schedule. It was such a treat to spend that time with him! :)
Enjoy all the pictures below from our fun week!!

DVD anyone??

I guess Morgan wanted to watch a movie tonight. :) She continued to crawl toward our TV cabinet. Each time she went over there she began pulling out DVDs. Sorry to say she was disappointed...no movies for her...just bath and then bedtime.

On the move...all the time

Morgan has been crawling for a month now. The first week or two she didn't venture too far from toys and familiar objects. The past week she has been checking out the entire house. Most days are spent watching her crawl to the laundry room or bathroom. We now have to keep every door closed in the house. She also LOVES the air vents. Maybe Santa could bring her a couple for Christmas! HA! She has to crawl to the the air vents in the kitchen and family room at least a half dozen times a day. I think she likes the warm air on her face and she strokes the vent like she's playing the harp. Here are some pictures from our girl on the go!

Morgan's 6 month check-up

Morgan went for her 6 month check-up last Friday. She got her shots...which are never fun, but necessary. She is a healthy and growing girl! She weighed in at 16 lbs. 2 oz. and she is 27 1/4 inches long. She is hitting all the developmental milestones and we are happy she is doing so well! The best part of the visit is knowing when she goes in for her 9 month appointment there will be no shots.

Morgan started using her sippy cup this week. She does a great job putting the sippy up to her mouth. I don't think she is getting very much water yet, but she enjoys chewing on the spout.

A Great Surprise

Yesterday we took out my new jogging stroller Andy surprised me with last week! I have been wanting a jogging stroller for a few months and began saving money to purchase one. Andy enlisted the help of Jennifer (who owns the same stroller) to help him find the stroller online. He had the stroller shipped to Jennifer's house so that he could surprise me when we ate dinner at their house last week. It was a wonderful surprise!! I also appreciated all of Jennifer's effort locating the stroller since it was out of stock basically at every on-line store.

Morgan and I taking a walk/jog around our neighborhood lake. Morgan is enjoying the smooth ride! :)

Welcome to the Hilbrich family blog!

Why start a blog??

I have been inspired by my friends who have created blogs. I decided a blog would be a good way for our family and friends both near and far to see all the fun we are having as a family. Of course the "star" of our blog will be Morgan!

I will update weekly so check back often. We hope you enjoy all the pictures and stories to come!
