Red Barn

We enjoyed a field trip in early October to The Red Barn in Weston.  The girls loved learning about the animals, getting pumpkins, and apples from the orchard.  We all learned a lot from the honey bee tour too.  The weather was great so we were able to have a picnic lunch at the end of our visit.  It was a fun field trip! :)

Morgan's 5 1/2

Our sweet and kind hearted Morgan is 5 1/2!
Morgan is so much fun to be around!  She's been enjoying ice skating this fall and really doing well.  She loves it!  Once class is over she skates on her own for 30 min. just to practice.  I love her determination!  She also is enjoying gymnastics class.  Morgan can do art projects and crafts for hours.  She loves drawing, writing, making special notes and letters for our family. She's a great big sister and is patient with her little sister (most of the time).  She's still our outdoor kid!  She loves to ride her bike, roller skate, climb the monkey bars, and play with the neighbors.

Morgan is doing amazing with homeschooling.  I love that I have been able to tailor a curriculum that works for her. She is doing a 1st grade math curriculum.  She is also reading/writing like crazy and mastering 1st grade spelling and sight words.  She tells me all the time how fun school is at home.  I am glad we were able to give Morgan this choice in learning.

Grandparents

We made a quick trip to the southwestern part of Nebraska to visit my grandparents.  They are celebrating 70 YEARS of MARRIAGE this weekend!  Isn't that incredible!  They are such an amazing example to me of love and commitment.  They still are so much in love and adore each other!
The girls loved seeing them too. Wish it wasn't such a long drive and we lived closer to them.  Also, my grandma will turn 91 in two weeks. Lots of special moments for them in the weeks ahead.
We also stopped by our friends Heath and Michaela's house on the way home.  Loved seeing them and their kids!

Omaha

We had a fun trip to Omaha!  We went to Vila's Pumpkin patch and the Omaha Zoo. The kids also enjoyed staying in a hotel and swimming in the pool that evening.  The zoo was awesome!  We saw so many animals up close.  The pumpkin patch was one of the best I've ever been too.  On our way home we stopped by Northwest Missouri State University.  It was fun to share with my girls where I went to college.  Hard to believe I graduated 13 years ago this December.  The campus has so many updated buildings.  The Union was amazing!!  We ate dinner at my favorite local pizza place before heading home. It was a great trip!  Lots of fun memories!
