Ready to be a BIG SISTER!!

Morgan can recognize the words "BIG SISTER" and always wants to wear her shirts that say "Big Sister." I'm not letting her wear her special shirts out of the house until the baby arrives. For now, she enjoys wearing them around the house. I caught her sitting in her baby sisters room reading. I asked what she was doing and she told me she was reading her baby bear a bedtime story. Awe...so sweet!

Morgan is so excited for her baby sister to get here! She has been quite the little mother around the house lately. She is always singing, rocking, or changing her babies diapers. I constantly find her babies and stuffed animals in her little sisters crib, bouncer seat, car seat, and swing. I am soaking in all those special moments where she gives my belly a hug and talks to her baby sister multiple times a day. I love that she already has a deep bond with the baby and tells the baby all the wonderful things they are going to do together one day. Our baby is lucky to have such a great big sister!

Funny Conversation

Morgan-"Mommy let's play school. I'm in high school and your the teacher."
Me- "Why do you want to be in high school?"
Morgan-"That's where the really big kids go!" This is the outfit I am going to wear to high school. I picked it out all by myself!!!

I think this conversation and the pictures will make Morgan laugh someday. Glad to know she already has her "high school" outfit picked out. I am going to have a hard enough time with preschool enrollment next week!

Our high school neighbor is in the color guard at her school and gave Morgan this flag. She LOVES it. I think that is where the whole high school thing got in her head. :)

Valentine's Day

We had a fun Valentine's Day! In the morning, Morgan and I went to Laynie's house for a play date and enjoyed decorating cupcakes after lunch!
Then I was off to spend time with my niece's and nephew at their V-Day parties at their school. Holli was room mother in Abby's class and Katie really wanted someone to be in her room for the party. I couldn't resist...once a teacher...always a teacher! :) I love going to their school to see what they are doing in their classrooms. I also stopped by Jack's room, but didn't' stay too long. After all, he is in 5th grade and having your Aunt hang out at your party probably isn't very cool. Katie and I made her ladybug Valentine's box together. I thought it turned out great!! We are already brainstorming ideas for next year.

Once I got home Andy, Morgan, and I went to Minsky's to enjoy a heart shaped pizza for dinner. I loved finishing my day with my two favorite people!!

We had a great time and as a special treat we stopped by the game area and Morgan and Andy drove an arcade car. All I could think about is how many germs were on the steering wheel that Morgan touched. I am such a germ freak! Morgan had her hands thoroughly cleaned when she was done. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Chocolate and Valentine's Fun!

Morgan had fun helping me make chocolate covered strawberries tonight. We are going to deliver them to some special people in our lives tomorrow for Valentine's Day. Morgan loved licking the chocolate and being my taste tester. She is just like her Daddy!!

Andy and I enjoyed a night out last night for Valentine's Day. Gigi and Papa were kind enough to keep Morgan all night. It sounds like they had a lot of fun. Gigi set up a special Valentine's decorated table and they made homemade pizza and had ice cream for dessert. They must have played hard because Morgan had a 3 hour nap when she came home today! Andy and I enjoyed dinner at Cafe Trio...delicious! Then we indulged in some ice cream. Finally we ended our night at a hotel. It was such a wonderful and relaxing evening with Andy. I always miss our sweet girl, but I treasure the time when it's just the two of us!

My Little Roller Skater

I joke that Morgan is going to be my extreme sport girl. Whenever she sees anything in books or on t.v. such as a person jumping out of a plane, someone on a trapeze, snow skiing, water skiing, or skate boarding she always says, "I want to do that!" Then she talks about it for days. She is fascinated with high speed activities and loves sports where wheels are involved.

Well, she has been talking about roller skating for a long time. Grandma D bought Morgan her first roller skates last week. (Since she is a big girl now and that she is potty trained and sleeping great in her big girl room.) Well...Morgan LOVES her roller skates. In fact, she loves them sooo much that the day after she got them she roller skated into my room at 6am to tell me good morning. She is such a hoot! I am also impressed how well she skates around our hard wood floors. She rarely falls! Good job Morgan!!! :)
This picture taken after she woke me bright an early with a..."Sunny Day, Mommy!"

32 Weeks!

Our baby girl continues to grow really well, despite having a two vessel cord. Today was another sonogram. All is well!! Baby bean is head down (YEAH!), she is weighing in at 4lbs. 15 oz. She is still a week and a half ahead of schedule. The doctors are impressed with her growth. My belly measures a week behind, but like I've said before, I hide my babies well. :) Even though this time my belly is a lot bigger than it was with Morgan. My appointments have all been easy and uneventful the past few weeks. This is a good thing because I want her to stay in for at least another month!

Morgan continues to love on my belly!! She already adores her baby sister! Tonight she helped me pack baby bean's diaper bag. I told Morgan how the baby will be born at a hospital and then she will come home to live with us. The rest of the evening Morgan kept asking when we could go to the hospital tonight. She said she is ready to see the baby! :) Cute! I told her I wasn't quite ready yet and she can meet her in a few weeks. She also walked around the house tonight asking, "What else can I do to help the baby?" Awe...what a great big sister she is going to be!

When I wasn't looking...

When I wasn't looking...Morgan decided to surprise me!

She told me she had a surprise in the baby's room. I could only imagine what that meant. We went in the room and she said..."Surprise Mommy!" She had dumped all the babies diapers, books, sleepers, blankets, and burp clothes into the baby bed. Ugh! :( I had everything washed and organized. Oh well...life with a toddler! She was really proud of her "project" so the only thing that came out of my mouth was, "Wow! Guess I should take a picture!" She then wanted to help me put all the items back in their containers. Toddlers are so helpful. Right?!!?!
Needless to say, I have an organizing project today.
All the containers empty. She is sure excited about it! :(
Her dumping ground!

Pictures of the big girl room!

Morgan's room is finally finished! We got the curtains hung this week. :) I would like to add a picture or a group of pictures above her bed but that will be at a later date when I decide what I want placed there.
Our most exciting project in the room is the dresser. I bought it last spring for $15 at a garage sale in Jennifer's neighborhood. It definitely needed TLC, but I was able to see past the ugly piece with the Buzz Light year stickers on it. After lots of sanding and coats of paint, new hinges, and door handles I think it turned out great!
Morgan loves her big girl room and that's the best part!!
The dollhouse bookshelf and wall art I got at Target.
Love the hanging butterflies! Unexpected find...I found these butterflies at our local grocery store in the flower shop.
The dresser after Andy and I redid it!
The dresser before...needs a lot of TLC!

Puzzle Time

Morgan enjoys doing puzzles. She now does 24 piece puzzles mostly on her own. (She occasionally gets stuck and needs help from Mommy!) She always says, "Mommy do a puzzle with me?!!?" She likes it when we work on them together. Since I want her to do most of the puzzle by herself I slowly put a piece or two together while she completes the puzzle. She probably thinks that her Mommy is terrible at puzzles! HA!
