The Nelson Art Museum

Our family

My sweet girls!

Morgan and Aunt Traci making art.

Morgan and Uncle Joel making a rain stick.

Snack time!

Morgan in front of one of Monet's "Water Lily" paintings.
We enjoyed a day at the Nelson Art Museum with Traci and Joel.  It was cooperate day so they had lots of fun family activities.  Thanks to Traci for inviting us as her guest. :)  The girls had a great time and Morgan loved checking out Monet's famous work.  She also loved learning about sculptures.  I look forward to taking the girls back each year.

Ice Skating

Morgan has been taking ice skating lesson this month. She is loving it!  We are actually doing a parent/tot class so I get to skate with her.  Love having special time with her.

She is learning how to get up after falling, marching and gliding on the ice, bending down and picking up objects of the ice, and a swizzle.  Hope she continues to enjoy ice skating!

No more training wheels

While I was at my girls weekend Andy taught Morgan how to ride her bike without training wheels.  She caught on quickly and by the time I got home she was doing laps around our cul-de-sac.  I was shocked how fast she was riding!  She loves not having her training wheels.  She has been outside everyday riding around our street.  She seems like such a big kid!!
So PROUD!

She looks so big on this bike.  We may need to upgrade next spring to a bigger bike. :)

Super fast!

16 months!

Our sweet and busy Mackenzie is 16 months old!

Cheese!!!! :)

She loves to color just like her big sister.

Love those big beautiful eyes!

Soooo BIG!

Mackenzie is so full of energy this month!  She is truly a "toddler" and our little tornado around the house.
  • You love to climb onto everything and you always want to jump into my arms.
  • You put your head down with your bottom up like you want to do a somersault
  • Dancing queen.  You love to shake and dance to the music
  • You continue to be a good eater, napper, and bedtime sleeper.
  • The past week you are waking at 5am to start your day. (Mommy isn't thrilled by this)
  • You like making animal sounds, dog, cat, and tiger
  • You learned how to open the toilet seat lid and I caught you dipping your hand in the water.  GROSS!  Now all bathroom doors are closed at all times!
  • Sometimes I think your favorite thing to do is making messes.  You seem to destroy everything!
  • You discovered you belly button this month.
  • You made up a sign for "wash hands"
  • You prefer to be naked around the house in just your diaper.
  • You are still in size 4 diapers (thinking I need to buy size 5 soon)
  • You wear a size 5 shoe and are wearing 18-24 month clothes
  • You love songs...twinkle twinkle, Jesus loves me, Isty Bitsy Spider, ABC's, and Patty Cake
  • You put your dirty diapers in the trash for me
  • You have a great appetite and always seem ready to eat!
  • If Morgan does it/or gets it then you feel you need to do it/get it too. :)
  • You have a great laugh and love when I do "This Little Piggy" on your toes.
LOVE YOU TO PIECES!!!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

Feeding the pigs goats.  These guys are so aggressive and sucked down the bottle of milk in about 2 seconds.

Mommy forgot my shoes at home, so I'm stuck in this stroller. :(

Will and Mackenzie

Morgan, Owen, and Kinley

Cool treats!

We enjoyed Deanna Rose Farmstead with Dana, Callie, and their kiddos.  It was a pretty hot day, but the kids did great.  The best part was enjoying some ice cream while we cooled off.

I had a great mommy moment.  When we got to Deanna Rose I realized I forgot Mackenzie's shoes at home. :(  Poor girl had to spend the majority of the time in her stroller.  I did find a shaded area and let her walk around for a few minutes where the concrete wasn't hot.  Mackenzie was a trooper and did well staying in her stroller.

Girls weekend

I enjoyed a weekend away with my college friends.  Kathleen, Cheryl, and I went to Wilmington, North Carolina to visit Sarah.  We had a great weekend relaxing at the beach, enjoying meals by the water, and of course lots of catching up.  Of course I forgot my camera both days when we went to the beach...so no beach pictures.
Sarah was a wonderful host!  I wish she lived closer so I could see her more often!  Thanks for a great weekend Sarah!!
Sarah met us at the airport with a sign.  She's so fun and thoughtful!

Great friends!

Icy Treasures

With the temperatures consistently 100+ degrees this month we are trying to keep cool.  The girls enjoyed trying to break the ice block I made to get the treasure out. :)

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!!! We had a great day! We spent the afternoon and evening over at Holli's to celebrate Katie's 9th birthday and watch a couple of fireworks. We headed out before the night fireworks...Mackenzie was tired.
Morgan (with pj's on) and Andy did a few smoke bombs and snakes before she went to bed. Morgan was able to see a few of the large night fireworks before she headed to bed. It was a fun (and hot) day!!!

Isn't this cake cute!?!  My sister Holli, made it for Katie's birthday.

Patriotic Play Date!

We had so much fun at Jenn's for a "Patriotic" play date and swim!  We love our play group!
