Zoo

We took our first trip to the zoo! It was a lot of fun! It was pretty crowded since most schools are now out for summer vacation. Andy said he had never seen so many strollers all in one place. Morgan's favorite animals were the elephants and the baby deer. For $ .25 you could feed the baby deer and Morgan laughed as Andy fed them. We also decided to get a zoo membership so that we could go all year. After we go 2-3 times our membership will be paid for. I like supporting local places in our community. I remember as a child going to this same zoo. It was always so much fun! Can't wait until our next visit.

I love the baby animals!

Baby deer come back and play with me!

That monkey is really high up!

I can see a lot from up here!

Time to go home. What a fun day!

All Dressed Up!

Morgan is starting to enjoy playing dress up. She loves to wear her scarf, my ponytail holders as bracelets, all sizes of shoes (yes even her dad's), and she'll even carry little bags around like purses. It is so fun to watch her put all these items on and then parade around the house making sure to point to the scarf, bracelets, sunglasses, etc. she has on. :)

1 Year Molars

Morgan has been working on getting her molars for the past month. The one year molars have been the worst so far in teething. She has ran low grade fevers off and on and has been pretty cranky and unsettled at night. She seems to finally be getting back into sleeping all night.

I am happy to report we have 3 molars in! YEAH! The last one is swollen, but nothing has broken through yet.

Baby Doll

I have an American Girl doll I got when I was ten years old. It is in Morgan's closet and I am waiting for the day she is big enough to enjoy it. Since it is an expensive doll she won't be able to play with it until she is older. This past week Morgan constantly points at the American Girl doll and wants me to get it off the shelf. Morgan has enjoyed touching the dolls hair and eyes. I thought it is time for me to get Morgan a baby doll she can drag around the house and love to pieces. Morgan and I went and picked out a little doll for her. She loves it!! She enjoys hugging and kissing her doll. She also loves putting the pacifier in and out of it's mouth and taking off the baby's hat.

Powell Garden

Morgan and I enjoyed an afternoon at Powell Gardens . Andy was out in LA for a guys weekend. Powell Gardens was a lot of fun and the weather was gorgeous. I got some fun pictures of Morgan in such a beautiful setting. Morgan enjoyed all the sites and sounds of nature as she walked/ran around the park. If you have never been to Powell Gardens...you should check it out. We always enjoy ourselves when we go.

Time to clean

What a hoot! Morgan loves to help me clean. I guess I am teaching her early. Papa Joe and Gigi found Morgan her very own toddler size Swifter. She loves it and she's actually quite good at moving it around the floor. Now once I can teach her how to dust, clean the bathrooms, make the beds, do laundry, cook, and clean the dishes I will then be able to lounge on the couch and eat "bon bon's" all day. HA!! After all, isn't that what some people think homemakers do. Oh...little do they know!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all those FABULOUS MOM'S out there!
Many of you have become mom's just in the past few years. Other's have been mom's for many...many years! It is true what people say...Being a Mother is the hardest and BEST job on Earth. No one really understands it unless they are a mom themselves. Hope everyone had a special day!! Morgan gave me lots of kisses an giggles! What could be better than that! :)

1,830

1,830 is an estimated number of how many bottles Andy and I made and cleaned in one year! Crazy!!
We took Morgan's bottle away on her birthday. I was so ready to say adios to the bottle. I was tired of cleaning them each and everyday. Plus, the bottle drying rack took a lot of counter space up, which I am thrilled to get back. I was nervous how Morgan would do adjusting to no more bottles at nap and bedtime. We all know Morgan is a details girl and nothing gets past her. Well...she hasn't cared in the least that the bottle is gone. We are on two weeks now and she is doing fabulous with whole milk in her sippy cup. Even without the bottle we still have our snuggle time when she goes down for nap/bed. I am happy about that!
Good bye bottles and drying rack! Thank you for your year of service!! :)

Ready...Set...Walk!!!!

Two weeks ago Morgan started taking a few steps around our house. On her birthday she gave us a great gift. She started walking all around the house!! Yes...I am putting my running shoes on!! Morgan walks everywhere. I can tell she loves her new independence!! Being the fearless girl she is Morgan will walk anywhere including on the concrete driveway (which makes mom a bit nervous!) If she isn't walking she is busy climbing. I am not sure who is more tired at the end of the day. It is so fun to watch her grow!

Birthday Party

We celebrated Miss Morgan Jane's birthday today! We had our family over and had beautiful weather. Morgan got so many nice presents. She was busy all evening playing with everything. Jennifer, Todd and James came to the party too. Jennifer made this awesome DVD of Morgan and James' first year together. It was soo thoughtful and Morgan and I watched it again after everyone left. She kept pointing at the TV and talking. Looks like the DVD is a hit with Morgan!

Morgan loved her birthday cupcake! She ate just about every inch of her dessert. I think we can officially say she has a sweet tooth like her Mommy and Daddy!!

Sweet birthday girl!!

Yummy!!

James and Morgan enjoying the cupcales!

Looking for her next gift!

Opening gifts

I enjoyed making jumbo cupcakes for everyone instead of doing a cake. I also made cake pops and put them in flower pots for the center pieces of the party.
