Halloween Fun!

Happy Halloween!!
We had a fun day with our lil' cowgirl! Morgan prepared for the big day with a 3 hour nap! That's the biggest nap she has taken in a very long time. It's like she knew it was going to be a busy day and she wanted to be well rested! :) We stopped by my great aunt's house and then my mom's in the late afternoon. Andy's parents came over for the evening festivities and I made potato soup. Lori spoiled us with some tasty treats for dessert! Morgan loved trick-or-treating! She is already a pro at knocking on the doors and holding up her treat basket. You would think she's been trick-or-treating for years!! :) She had so much fun she didn't want to stop! It was such a fun day!

Morgan was all smiles today!

18 Months!

Hard to believe that a year and a half has already gone by! Happy 18 Months Morgan!!
What have you been up to this month...
  • Two of your eye teeth arrived in the past week...I see another one that is close to popping through
  • You now know 13 body parts
  • We are seeing more and more toddler independence...wanting to do things on your own such as getting your pants and shoes on by yourself.
  • You don't care for your booster seat when you eat. You now want to sit at your little table for all your meals.
  • 18 month separation anxiety has hit. You don't like your mommy or daddy to leave you. It makes you sad. :(
  • We are finally getting to sleep in a little. Yeah!! You have been waking around 6:30 the past two weeks. I am hoping it is a good trend, but daylight savings is around the corner so I am sure we will be back to 5:30.
  • You still go to sleep well each night, but you still aren't sleeping well through the night.
  • We are down to one nap a day and you nap for about 2 hours.
  • You love action..playing chase, hide in seek, climbing, and jumping on the bed are some of your favorite indoor activities.
  • Outside is still your favorite place to be. You could run, jump, climb, and explore outside all day long if we would let you.
  • You are continuing to say more words and you understand everything we say. You also understand multi-step directions.
  • You help pick up your toys before bed.
  • You still love to play dress up!
  • You are still a snuggler and love to give hugs and kisses!

Morgan you have brought us so much happiness and love over the past 18 months! You are our treasure!

Morgan one year ago. She looks so little! :)

An artist in the making

Morgan has been quite attached to her crayons and drawing paper. She has made some beautiful drawings. I would say she is in her abstract phase. :) I love art and even minored in it in college...I hope Morgan finds a love of art as she grows up.
What talent...using 3 crayons at once! :)
She has been hugging her crayons and carrying them around the house all week.

The Cutest Cowgirl and Cowboy!!!

James was over for a play date today and we got the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes. It was to cold for outside pictures, so we had our photo shoot in the basement. I think the kids looked too cute! Of course getting two toddler's picture taken is no easy task. As I was taking pictures poor Jennifer was tossing snacks at the kids to keep them from running away. Then trying to keep the kids cowboy hats on...that was a whole other issue. :)

My favorite picture...they are having a quite the conversation.

Every cowgirl needs a trusted horse!
I love this little cowgirl and her sassy pink boots!

Pictures from the week

Here are some pictures from our fun week! Morgan is really into using her imagination! You will notice in some of the pictures she is dressed up or wearing my heels. We are still hoping to get to a pumpkin patch before Halloween. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
Walking in my heels!
The other morning Morgan insisted on wearing her tutu and wings over her pj's! She loves wearing her tutu...she always twirls and dances around in it. So cute!
Sitting in a doll chair working on a puzzle.
Morgan's friend Molly came over to play this week.
Morgan's favorite game with her Daddy. He takes her for blanket rides all around the kitchen. I like that it cleans my floors! :)

Fall Fun!

Here are some pictures of our little Miss Morgan enjoying the nice day. We played...played...played outside all afternoon and evening! She is too cute in her hat!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

It was so nice today! After two weeks of grey and cold weather we decided to spend some time outside. Morgan, Vicki, Jack and I went to Deanna Rose Farmstead. We had a lot of fun enjoying the fresh air and seeing all the animals. Morgan loved feeding the baby goats! I can't wait to take Morgan back next spring!

It's Finished!!

After six months our basement is finished!! It was a labor of love and Andy did a lot of work!! I am most impressed with his tile work in the half bath and the area leading to outside. He had never tiled before and did an awesome job. I was on the clean up and painting crew. Two guys Andy work with did most of the framing and all of the trim and electrical work. I LOVE having a playroom for Morgan. She loves it too! We also added a cool space in the hallway before you enter the basement. It's a spot to hang coats, put shoes etc.
The before pictures...

What a messy basement!

The finished product!

1/2 bath (still needs a mirror)
My favorite add on...a little nook for coats etc.
(We still need to add the hooks and repaint the walls around it.)

Sick :(

Poor Morgan has been really sick this week. It looks as though she has the hand/foot/mouth virus. Unfortunately she has terrible canker like sores in her mouth, but no other bumps anywhere else. It has made eating nearly impossible for her with lots of tears and crying. It has been a hard few days because you can't do much for this virus...just Motrin, fluids, and waiting it out. She hasn't slept well either. The past 3 nights Andy and I have taken turns on the couch with her. Today she woke pretty happy and was only slightly irritable during different times today. To top off our challenging week, I got pink eye yesterday! :( I have never had pink eye before. Hopefully we are all on the mend by the weekend!
