Love my sweet girls!

4 1/2 Years Old

Five words to describe our Morgan Jane...
  1. Intelligent
  2. Kind
  3. Funny
  4. Thoughtful
  5. Beautiful
I can't obviously leave this post with only 5 words to describe her!  Our sweet Morgan has such a joyful soul!  Watching her grow has been such an amazing gift.

We just had her Pre-K conference this week with her teacher.  Morgan has grown so much since last year.  She was so shy last year and cried each day I took her to school.  This year she has confidence in herself and gives me a big hug and smile each day and no tears!  Here are some things we were told during the meeting.
  • "Morgan is a positive leader!  She is always listening and and following directions.  It may be as simple as sitting quietly at circle time to reciting directions the teacher has given the class."
  • "She is very diplomatic when it comes to solving problems with friends."
  • She knows all her upper and lower case letters, can write all her letters...both lower and upper case, can identify/know the names/and draw all her shapes (square, oval, circle, rectangle, triangle, star, and diamond), she can count on her own to 59 and identify the number 1-50.
  • Her teacher also mentioned how good she is at cutting a straight line.
  • She knows her home address, our home phone number, and my cell number.
  • She continues to learn a variety of prayers
We are so proud of her love of learning.

Lately, she wants to write letters to family members or stories.  If I sound out words she can write them on her own.  She is even recognizing words in books.  She is wanting to learn to read and I am sure she will be reading before we know it.

I love that she still asks "why?"  It has changed from that sweet toddler "why" to a deeper thought. She's asking thoughtful questions and really pondering things.  Some questions she has asked recently..
Why can I sometimes still see the moon even though it is daytime and not night?
Does God sit on the clouds to see us?
Why do some people die and go to heaven?
How do you drive a car?

She still loves being active outside and not only rides her bike without training wheels, but also loves to stand while riding her bike.  Her latest trick is she has learned to jump rope on her own.  I always love to see what she's going to learn next.

She loves to play games...tick-tack-toe, Candyland, and memory are a few favorites!

She loves art so much (a girl after my own heart) and is always wanting to draw, paint, and create!

She's really enjoyed a lot of activities in the past six months.  Everything from swimming lessons, bible school, dance, ice skating, and fall soccer.  She now wants to start gymnastics next month.  She always wants to be in some activity or try something new!

Some of her favorite things are playing with friends, dance parties in the family room, pretending she is a gymnast in the Olympics, helping me and daddy cook, riding her bike, playing in her sandbox, and doing sidewalk chalk pictures.

We also thank God that her eye is still doing well after almost 6 months has past since surgery.

What we are most proud of is Morgan kind heart!  We are very blessed to have such a great kid!
We LOVE You sweetie!!!! :)

18/19 Months!

This precious baby is a year and a half old!  She makes our heart melt!!

Over the past two months you've been a busy girl!!  A few highlights at what you've been up to..
  • Loves to play Duck, Duck, Goose.  You love to shout out "duck" when we play.
  • Also, you love playing Ring Around the Rosie.
  • Always helping your mama...throwing trash away, dusting, wiping the counters off, or sweeping the floor.
  • You love to throw and kick balls
  • Love chasing bubbles and saying the word bubble too!
  • Toddler picking meal time is kicking in and some days you barely eat.  Other days you shovel it in!
  • When you sign "all done" at mealtime, you also say the word "all" at the same time.
  • You love to walk backwards.
  • One of your favorite things to do is color with your big sister.
  • You play great independently!
  • You are still such a cuddlier!  I love it!  You love for your mama to hold you and you always put your head on my shoulder.
  • You still go down so easy at night and sleep all night long.  You average 10 hours at night (I wish you would sleep in, but at least you sleep all night!)  Bedtime is roughly 8pm and you are up by 6pm.
  • You have been crying when I put you down for nap lately. :(  Luckily, you fall asleep quickly, usually in about 5-10 min.  You seem to wake up after about an hour and a half and then sleep on mommy or daddy the another hour on the couch.  Is this a habit?  Probably!  But, one day you won't want to snuggle us anymore, so I will cherish every minute!
  • You love to dance and your so animated!
  • Lately, you peak around corners and shout "BOO!"
  • You've been trying to jump, but your feet don't leave the ground. :)
  • You are in a size 5 diaper, size 5 1/2-6 shoe, and size 24 months to 2T clothing.
  • You love to only be in your diaper around the house and you scream when I get you dressed and you try to run away from me.
  • You put one finger up in the air and say "one!"
  • Your vocabualry has really grown here are some of the words you are saying...mama, dada, bubble, all, one, duck, boo, book, bye-bye, hi, gigi, pa, gold (for gold fish), mmmm (for milk), cheese, mon (for monkey), wow
  • You are trying to dress yourself and practice putting necklaces, socks, pants, shirts, and shoes on.  Sometime successful and sometimes not.
  • You are still obsessed with books.  Books and baby dolls are the things that entertain you the most.
  • You have been known to throw a tantrum when you don't get your way.  Luckily, they usually last a minute or less.
  • I think you favorite thing still is following your sister around and doing whatever she does.
Mackenzie Marie, we love your to pieces! You make our family complete!!!!
