Eye Doctor

We have been monitoring Mackenzie's left eye since she was 4 months old.  That is when I noticed her left eye turns in slightly.  At her 4 month check-up our pediatrician said we would check back at 6 months to see if there is any change.  At her appointment this week we noticed no change, in fact the Dr. noticed Mackenzie turns her head to the left to see an object that is to the left of her body instead of just moving her eye.  The next day I took her to an eye doctor.  (Certain doctors participate in a free eye check up for kids 12 months and under.  We took Morgan back when she was under a year old.)  We would have taken her for the free eye check up over the next few months anyway.  The eye doctor also confirmed what our pediatrician saw.  We now have an appt. set up for early November to see a pediatric ophthalmologist.  Please keep Mackenzie in your prayers.  I pray that her little eye will get the proper care it needs.  I know that she will more than likely get her eyes dilated and trying to have a 6 month old follow directions to focus her eyes to look certain ways for the exam is most likely not going to be easy.  We appreciate your prayers.  I will post in November what the next step will be after meeting with the ophthalmologist.

Mackenzie's 6 month doctor visit

The doctor appointment went well today.  She is a healthy baby hitting all of her milestone's.  Our doctor commented on how she couldn't believe that Mackenzie not only had 3 teeth already, but her other upper 3 teeth are all coming in too.  At this rate Mackenzie might have a full mouth of teeth in the next month.

Here are are the stats on our sweet little big girl!
Height 28 inches (99%)
Weight 18 lbs. 13 oz. (93%)

We thank God for our healthy Mackenzie Marie!  We love you to pieces!!

Mackenzie's 6 months!

Hi everyone!   Yes, you heard right I'm half a year old.  Now that I am the "BIG 6 MONTHS" I thought I could give this blogging thing a try and tell you all about what I am up to.  As you can see from my pictures life is good.  I am hugged, cuddled, fed, changed, kissed, cuddled some more, played with, talked to, read to, and smiled at multiple times a day.  I can easily say that my Mommy, Daddy, and big sister are smitten with me.  Yea, I'm a keeper!  After all...who could resist these cheeks!
I'm still a happy, easy going baby!  I LOVE to smile and giggle, especially at my Mommy, Daddy, and big sister.  I'm wearing a size 3 diaper and 6-9 month clothes.  I still sleep great at night.  I wake only once to eat and sometimes I sleep all night long.  I usually go to bed around 8pm and wake around 7:30am.  I've been enjoying sweet potatoes, bananas, and pears in the safety feeder the past few weeks.  I'm getting ready to branch out to more food soon.  I have 3 teeth and I have 3 more teeth working on coming in.   I'm starting to get stranger anxiety.  I prefer my mommy over anyone else.  She doesn't mind.  In fact, I think she likes all the extra cuddle time I give her!
I've started to scoot a little and I also get up on my hands and knees and rock back and forth.  I think my parents need to get the baby gate up soon!!  I'm ready to explore...especially all the cool toys my sister plays with. ;)
I still enjoy my nightly spa time with my Mommy. She gets that bath water at the perfect temperature so I want to stay and kick in the tub for a long time. I've been know to splash so much I've got my mom wet a few times. I think it's pretty funny!
Who can resist a good massage? I get a great baby massage each night after bath. See that look on my face. Pure joy!!
Call me an original...hair like this cannot be copied.

There she is..."Big Sister."  She is the ultimate in cool.  She always makes sure I have a toy and somehow I laugh a lot more at her than anyone else.  Who knew my big sister was a stand up comic?!?  She also puts up with me grabbing her hair about 20+ times a day.  She really loves me a lot and I love her too!  BFF's already!

I'm a busy girl now that I'm 6 months old.  Sometimes a girls got to get a little beauty rest.  In my case it's 2-3 naps a day.

Mack's 3rd tooth

Mackenzie's front left tooth is in.  It looks like tooth #4 is close behind, her gum is pretty white next to her new tooth.  I still can't believe she is getting so many teeth before she's six month old.

Thoughts from Morgan...

Morgan says so many funny things each day.  I wish I could write down everything she tells me.  Yesterday she said, "Mommy, I can be anything I want to be when I grow up.  I think I am going to be a doctor, and artist, and a cookie maker.  When I get big I will be able to jump so high I can reach the moon.  I will be really close to heaven so I will say hi to God."  I love her thinking!  Oh Morgan, you make me smile. :)

Tasty

Mackenzie's been enjoying frozen bananas and sweet potatoes in the safety feeder.  This girl likes loves food.  She usually eats all the banana and sweet potato.  Many times I have to refill them.  She definitely gets into a zone when she eats!

Did you check out her hair in the second picture?  Yes...her hair stands straight up!  It's so funny!

M-O-R-G-A-N

Morgan has started writing her name.  I printed off practice pages from the web where she can trace over the letters.  I love seeing the letters she writes!

Tutu cute!

Morgan wanted Mackenzie to wear one of her tutu's.:)
