Mackenzie's 5 months old!

5 months old! The pictures are taken on your special blanket GiGi made..

Your hair sticks straight up! (Your mama's did the same thing as a baby.) It's a hoot! From a side profile it looks like you are sporting a little Mohawk.

I'm very happy and social!

If you get up close to me I will probably grab your face, give you a drooled kiss, and pull your hair as hard as I can!

You are sooo long. I love your chubby legs and chubby cheeks. :)

Mackenzie you continue to fill our hearts with so much love. You are such a sweet baby! You have been a busy girl over the past month. The two biggest milestones...your first 2 teeth popping through and you have been sleeping through the night. Your mama is thankful for consecutive nights of complete sleep. You grab at everything in your sights. Nothing is safe. You have started hanging out in your highchair at meal time. No food yet, that will be next month. We are so thankful we were able to get you off your acid reflex medicine. You love grabbing your toes. You are noticing if mama leaves the room and sometimes you protest. You still wake up happy every day and your smile starts from sun up and continues until bedtime. You love taking walks and seem to enjoy the fresh air on your face. No one can get you giggling like Morgan! You are ticklish under your arms. You love it when I play peek-a-boo with you. Bath time is still a favorite! You are trying sooo hard to crawl. You have been pushing your knees under your belly and wiggling an inch or too. You can also sit for a few seconds by yourself. You are still comfortably wearing size 2 diapers and you are wearing 6 month clothes.

Teacher Morgan

Morgan loves teaching Mackenzie new things. She had "Sofie the Giraffe" teach Mackenzie all the different colors on the wooden cookies.
Then giraffe then did a little song and dance. Mackenzie just smiles, giggles, and soaks up every moment with Morgan.

First Day of Preschool

I'm still can't believe that my little Morgan Jane is old enough to go to preschool. Today was the big day. She had a few tears at breakfast saying she was "nervous" about going to school. On the drive to school she was pretty quiet and I was wondering how she would react when we arrived. My biggest fear was she would cling to me and cry hysterically. I have been praying for weeks that wouldn't happen. I knew that if she had a hard time with me leaving it would break my heart and give me anxiety while I'm away from her. Thank goodness my prayers were answered. She quietly walked into her room and was greeted by her wonderful teacher. We love Mrs. Howerton. She has a personality that instantly clicked with Morgan. She is so caring and has a big heart. After I took a bunch of pictures we found a seat for Morgan by a couple girls she has met through story time and music class. She quietly said, "don't leave Mommy." I reminded her that I would be back soon and we would celebrate with a cheeseburger and ice cream (her favorite.) She said okay, I kissed her good-bye and walked out. I peeked back in when she couldn't see me and she was sitting quietly playing with blocks at her seat. I was happily surprised she did so well. When I picked her up three hours later a smiling and bouncing Morgan ran up to me with a big hug. "Mommy, I'm not nervous anymore. Preschool is fun!" I loved hearing those words! I know she is going to have a great year! :)
Mrs. Howerton told me that Morgan was a good example to others on how to listen and follow directions. Of course the teacher in me is proud of her good behavior in school. I hope it continues through the years. We love our BIG GIRL!

Sister Love

Already best friends!

Love this picture! Mackenzie's face always lights up when Morgan enters the room.

Mackenzie's 2nd Tooth!

Mackenzie's second tooth popped through yesterday. Can't believe my baby has two teeth at four months old. She is getting so big! The second tooth didn't really bother her. She has been sleeping well and her happy self. :)

Weekend at the lake

We enjoyed the last weekend in July at Andy's parents lake house. A weekend of few first...Morgan caught a fish (she actually ended up catching two), Morgan went tubing, and Mackenzie rolled over for the first time. It was a lot of fun!

Mr. Cool...Andy showing off! :)

Morgan and Aunt Vicki tubing.

Mackenzie likes to hold her bottle already!

Isn't that the sweetest face! Mackenzie was mesmerized by the ketchup bottle.

First Tooth!

We had a rough night last night. Mackenzie was up form 11pm -4:30am off and on. She was constantly rolling on her tummy and getting mad because she was stuck. It seemed like all night long I was coming helping her back to her side. Even when I held her she would thrash to her side like she as trying to flip to her tummy in my arms. It was like her instincts had kicked in and she wanted to practice her new trick.
Well...this morning Mackenzie went to chew on my finger and her first tooth had popped through. :) I couldn't believe it! 4 1/2 months is pretty young for a first tooth. I am thinking she was up all night due to her tooth and her rolling trick. The good news is she has been in pretty good spirits this week. Can't wait until her tooth is all the way through so I can get a picture of it! I am hoping for good sleep tonight!!

rolling...rolling...rolling

My baby no longer stays still. She now likes to show off her roll. I love how she looks up to her mama with a big smile after she rolls. It's like she is saying, "look at me...I'm so big!" She hasn't been a fan of rolling on her tummy while she sleeps at night. She loves to sleep on her side and when she finds herself on her tummy she lets me know it. I then have to go in and turn her on her back. Another milestone hit. I can't believe how big my baby is!
