20 Months!

The time keeps flying around our household. I can't believe Morgan will be 2 years old in April. It will be here before I know it!

I didn't post for 19 months because that's when I was having computer problems. So this is a 19/20 month combined post of our Morgan Jane. :)

  • You are now almost 24 pounds.
  • You know how to say blue, yellow, black.
  • You know can identify some of your colors...blue and white.
  • Dancing and dressing up are still your favorite things.
  • You love putting on make-up and jewelry with Mommy.
  • Anytime you hear an airplane you stop what you are doing and run to a window and point at the sky.
  • You help put your toys away before bedtime.
  • You know how to climb out of your crib and thankfully you've only done it once!
  • You don't like being dirty and like your hands and clothes to be clean.
  • You love playing soccer and basketball.
  • You can be such a girly girl and then poof the next moment you act like such a tomboy!
  • Animals still make you laugh and giggle and you can now imitate a seal, a chicken and a squirrel.
  • You are becoming quite the picky eater and you definitely have a sweet tooth.
  • You love playing mommy to your baby dolls. You are so sweet when you sing and rock them in your arms.
  • Your imagination still amazes me. I love watching you talk to your toys...it's so cute!
  • We love watching you play in your kitchen where you love making meals! Your favorite thing is to make play dough pancakes. Your Daddy has even taught you how to flip the pancakes with a spatula.
  • You love to jump on Mommy and Daddy's bed!
  • You've added eyebrows, chin, and neck to the body parts you know.
  • You are quite the creative artist and love to play with play dough and color.
  • You love to snuggle in the mornings with your Mama.
  • We still get up super early every morning, but occasionally you are sleeping until 7am. :)

Our sweet girl is getting so big and her mind is such a sponge. Morgan you amaze us each day!

White Christmas!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas! Yes...each year I dream of blankets of white snow covering the ground. I picture a Christmas morning playing in the snow and then coming inside to a warm mug of hot chocolate and Christmas music playing in the background.

This year I finally got my wish. We got a lot of snow around here! We had slick roads on the way home from Christmas Eve mass. It was so bad, we ended up cancelling our traditional Christmas Eve gathering with my extended family. We all felt it was better for everyone to be home and off the roads. The snow continued through the night. In fact, it was blizzard conditions in the middle of the night. We woke up to lots of snow and some snow drifts well over a foot around our house. Andy's family braved the cold and snowy roads and came over to our house mid-afternoon on Christmas. I think they just had to see Miss Morgan! :) Morgan was blessed with many nice gifts from our families. The best gift she gets all year...she is so loved by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Santa and the local news

Yesterday we took Morgan to visit Santa. She wasn't to sure about the big guy in the red suit. We went at the perfect time because no one was in line before or after us. At first she didn't want to get out of her stroller, but then Santa went up to Morgan and handed her a candy cane. Following the kind gesture from Santa a friendship was born! Morgan then agreed to go to Santa as long as Andy and I went with her. We were able to sit with Santa for a few good minutes since no one else was there. Morgan touched his furry coat sleeve and even blew him a kiss and gave him a hug. The best part was when she said, "ho..ho...ho," to Santa. We had been working on that this week and I was shocked she actually did it. Normally she gets shy and won't do things on command.
I didn't take a picture of Morgan with Santa and I wasn't about to pay the $25 they charge for a picture package. Lucky me...Channel 41's camera crew was there doing a story and much to my surprise they filmed us with Santa! I actually didn't even know this until we got a text message from one of Andy's friends saying he saw us on the news with Santa tonight. I got online and retrieved the video. Hopefully you are able to view it. We are at the 43 sec. and 57 sec. mark of the video story. :) Click below to see the video.

An unexpected traditon

Tonight I was getting ready to do a little baking for Vicki's birthday dinner tomorrow. I love baking, but I don't get to roll up my sleeves for tasty treats too often. The two biggest reason are not having the time and baking all the time wouldn't be good on my waistline! :) I turned on the TV to have something to watch as I made my jumbo dark chocolate cupcakes. One of my favorite Christmas movies was on..."It's A Wonderful Life!" I had to smile, because I have realized over the past few years I always find myself getting ready to bake around the holiday's and I turn on the TV to this movie. I never plan it out...it just always happens. Tonight I decided it's my new holiday tradition. Every year when the local TV network plays "It's a Wonderful Life," I'm going to have to make it a big baking night. Maybe it's a good excuse to make some tasty treat!! :)
I have this saying hanging in our home. It reminds me of all the blessings I have.
Time to put them in the oven!!
YUM!!
Even sweeter than the cupcakes...watching my precious baby sleep!
It is a Wonderful Life!!

National Champs!!

Congratulations to the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats!
We won our third Divison II National Football Title today!! I'm sooo excited!! http://www.nwmissouri.edu/sports/football/index.htm

The last time we won I was a junior in college, it was 1999. (Yes..that was ten years ago...yes this post is really aging me!!) I remember the fun road trip Jenny, Kathleen and I took down to Alabama for the Championship game. A bunch of our friends packed into a row at the stadium deck out in Bearcat pride! It is still a great memory!!

A little diva!

Most of you who know Morgan well have learned of her love of shoes. She changes her shoes multiple times a day. Now she also loves dressing up each day. I love her imagination! It's almost as if she goes into a character as she dresses in all of her outfits. When she has her dance/ballet clothes on she twirls and dances around. When she puts her sunglasses and hats on a completely different facial expression and walk. Maybe she will be an actress?!?! She loves the camera and will pose as I take her picture. Then she rushes over to look at the taken photo on the camera. She is too cute!

We're still here! :)

We are still around...just without Internet! :( I am battling with my Internet/phone company because our Internet has been out for over a week. They said it was our computer, but tonight I am typing on my laptop at my mom's house using her wireless connection. The good news it is not our computer...so I won't have to pay for an expensive fix. The bad news...more time on the phone put on hold and told the same thing over and over from the phone company with no results. Hopefully our Internet will be up and running soon!!

Friends

Morgan is lucky to have so many wonderful friends already at her age. She truly adores them all and gets so excited whenever she gets to have play dates. Morgan was so excited to not only see Katelyn this week, but also Carly. I used to work with their mommies, so I enjoy getting together for the play dates too. It always gives us a good chance to catch up!
