Birthday Girl!!!

2 years old

April 2009 (1 year old)

Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday sweet Morgan!!! Happy Birthday to you!
We love everything about you Morgan Jane! You bring us so much joy!
You are truly a blessing from God!
Love, Mommy & Daddy

Today our baby girl turned 2!! I seriously don't know where the time has gone?!?! We had a fun day with our regular trip to music class in the morning and then we had a special afternoon treat. We meet Aunt Holli, Cousin Abby, and her friend Taryn for some playtime at the park and had ice cream to celebrate Morgan's big day! We are getting excited for Morgan's family birthday party on Saturday!

I did a little photo shoot with Morgan to capture some cute poses/faces to remember her day! I was hoping to do them outside, but it was way to windy. So a chair in the family room worked just fine. :)

Strike a pose! She loves getting her picture taken...can you tell!?! :)

Morgan loves showing that she is "2!"

I'm soooo big!!

Silly girl!

My sweet angel! Morgan loves her thumb and 2 blankets. :)

Fun at the park!!

Sandbox

Morgan's birthday is just around the corner. For her birthday I wanted to get her a sandbox. I found one that I liked at Toys R Us. I thought before I buy it I would check out Craigslist. (Gotta love Craigslist!) I found the exact same sandbox for a lot...lot less. The sandbox was in great condition besides some fading. Which doesn't bother me in the least. With the back of our house facing west a new sandbox would easily be faded by the end of the summer. The best part is with our big savings we splurged for the more expensive sand. Crayola has come out with colored sand you can buy in 20 lbs. bags. The only store that I know of that carries it is Wal-Mart. The sand comes in lots of colors...pink, green, purple, or blue. We decided on the pink sand. It's also non-toxic and really soft. It's created a special way so there is minimal dust for us to breathe in.

Morgan ended up getting her birthday gift a few weeks early. She LOVES IT!! We played in it last night and today. I hope the sandbox is one of her favorite activities this summer!

Check out the pink sand...Love it!

Morgan was pretending to swim!

Car Wash

It has been beautiful outside the past few days. Yesterday Andy decided to wash our cars and Morgan jumped right in to help!! She loved it! In fact today she grabbed the bucket and sponge and went over to my car and said..."wash...wash...wash." I may end up having a very clean car this summer!

Easter Pictures

Here are pictures from our nice Easter weekend. We were able to spend time with both of our families...and eat a lot of good food in the process!! It was fun to see Morgan get excited about her Easter baskets, the egg hunt, and getting all dolled up for church. Holiday's are so much fun with kids!

Reading her new "Elmo" book from the Easter Bunny!

Easter basket goodies!

Coloring Eggs

Pretty eggs Morgan colored.

Morgan had a blast coloring eggs! She loved watching the eggs turn different colors and using the special crayon to make designs on her eggs. It was a fun first with our little cutie!! I loved coloring eggs as a kid and I hope Morgan enjoys it in the years to come. I think we will be having some egg salad for lunch this week!! YUM!
I had to make an egg with her name on it! :)

Easter Egg Hunt and a Party

We had such a wonderful weekend!! On Saturday, we went to Morgan's BFF James' house for his 2nd birthday. The kids had a blast finding eggs in the backyard. It was a little muddy so Morgan wore her snow boots. She loved splashing in the mud!! We had sooo much fun, Morgan didn't want to leave the party or James!
I will get Easter pictures up in the next day or two. :)

Food Revolution

One of my favorite shows to watch is Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. As a former teacher, I can easily back up Jamie. The food you see in the West Virginia schools looks like the school food around this part of the country too. So Sad!! In the seven years I taught, I maybe ate the school food three times. One time, I forgot my lunch and the school was having taco crunch. I thought I would give it a try...I ended up with horrible heartburn the rest of the day. The funny thing...I had never had heartburn in my life before eating that meal. I've also never had heartburn since. Pretty Scary! I never ever ate the school food again. Let's get healthy food for America's kids!

Picnic, Wagon Rides, & Wind...Oh My!

We finally are having spring weather!! This week has been gorgeous outside!! A bit windy...but the wind can't keep up inside. Morgan has enjoyed every moment outside this week. From big wheel play dates with friends, wagon rides, and a picnic with Mommy and Daddy, she's had such fun!

I was telling Andy last night that this summer is going to be really special with our sweet girl. She is at such a great age!! I'm having a blast with Morgan and feel like a kid myself, enjoying all those little moments that make her grin from ear to ear and her eyes sparkle. I'm so blessed to stay home with her!
Wagon ride...FUN!
Getting ready to have dinner outside at Gracie's house.
Picnic with Mommy and Daddy!
Gotta love string cheese! :) YUM!

Soccer Tots

Morgan is playing in a soccer tots program through mid May. She LOVES it!!! Morgan was sooo happy the whole hour we were there playing games and practicing some skills with her "Dino" soccer ball. We may have a future soccer star on our hands. She really enjoyed kicking the ball all the way to the goal each time. We can't wait until next week!!

Listening to directions from coach Kristin.

Dribbling the ball between her legs.

Playing a chase game with Mommy.

Kick...kick...kick...KICK!

Keeping her eye on the ball!

I lover her foot up on the ball! Cute!

Another fun movement game...The kids took the pool noodles and tried to tickle their parents.
